Positioned right at the interface of development and implementation of novel technologies and strategies within the agricultural sector, we are constantly searching for solutions that significantly boost the efficiency of agricultural processes or that allow to substantially conserve resources. Our goal is to help StartUps and innovative young companies to gain visible, long-term success, shaping the 21st century agriculture in a sustainable manner and gradually improving the world through our joint efforts. As later stage accelerator powered by BayWa AG and RWA Raiffeisen Ware Austria AG, two of the biggest players in global agriculture, we offer tailored solutions and precisely the resources you need right now to boost your business. With each StartUp participating in the program, we design a joint innovation project over the course of five months, including a monthly intensive Acceleration Week in Munich or Vienna which will be tailored to your individual business requirements.
This innovation project comprises a go-to-market or business expansion strategy based on both, the customer’s necessities and the StartUp’s core competencies. To implement the joint innovation project, all StartUps in the program have access to an overall budget of €100,000.
We are constantly on the lookout for groundbreaking innovations within the entire agricultural value chain. We consider innovation to be characterized as groundbreaking and trend-setting, if it either increases efficiency, helps to conserve resources or significantly facilitates the lives of farmers and consumers.
Our mentoring program offers professional advice from internal and external experts, our vast network provides for excellent opportunities to connect in the fields of R&D, sales, financing, science, politics, and the StartUp scene in general.
This year’s Acceleration & Market Entry Program starts in September 2018 and ends in February 2019. Within this period of time, five acceleration weeks take place, either in Munich or Vienna. Additional remote sessions foster the development of the innovation project.
To implement their innovation projects during the course of five months, each StartUp teams up with two internal lead-mentors who support the StartUp with their personal expertise and necessary know-how within the respective operating area. We cover the travel expenditures and offer manifold resources suitable to improve product development or sales. Also, StartUps can rely on our external mentors as sparring-partners at any time, providing many years of experience to help with important decisions. Individual coaching, covering the needs of each StartUp, complete the Acceleration & Market Entry Program.
We are looking for teams, which have already a marketable business model in the form of a product, solution or service, but need support in expanding their business.
The technology, product, service or solution must be scalable and applicable to agriculture or related industries. Per StartUp, a minimum of two and a maximum of three team members can participate in the program. At least one of the participating members must have strategic decision-making powers. Participation in the program is only possible for companies with limited liability.
We aim for operational cooperation between StartUps and our parent companies if the respective StartUp excelled in our Acceleration & Market Entry Program.
In addition, we offer our program participants the chance to receive follow-up financing from BayWa and RWA.
Through co-innovation, we can actively enhance the agricultural sector! In the spirit of Open Innovation, we are always keen on promising collaborations with corporations and representatives from politics, business, and science in order to jointly implement efficiency-enhancing and resource-saving developments.
In our innovation college, we design and offer external workshops, as well as consultation for interested parties, covering topics such as agricultural entrepreneurship or the promotion of innovation from within your own company.
We are always interested in all innovative companies and are looking forward to possible cooperations beyond our Acceleration & Market Entry Program. We focus on companies at a later stage of development, which can already report an annual turnover exceeding 2 million euros.
Cabasus invented a High Tech health and activity tracker for horses. The device allows tracking the health of the horse 24/7 via a mobile app. As a health measurement, the tool helps to detect and prevent colic, lameness, diseases and further training can be improved due to monitoring analysis.
Biorfarm is an online platform for direct marketing of agricultural products. Consumers can adopt organic trees, beehives or vines and receive their harvest directly at home. On Biorfarm the customer creates his own digital orchard and can monitor the plant's growth process.
Vitirover revolutionizes weed control in viticulture and fruit production with the development and production of solar powered, fully automated mower-robots, which represent an alternative to glyphosate. Vitirover is offering maintained hectares by deploying herds of mower-robots.

The patented technologies increase yield, improve the quality of crops and prolong the shelf life of fruits. Crop Intellects products can be formulated as an additive and enhance the efficiency of existing products.
Landpack is specialized in the development, production, and marketing of environmentally friendly packaging, especially for grocery logistics. As an alternative to Styrofoam, they developed a new technology to produce organic, sustainable packaging out of pure straw fiber, which is not only an excellent insulating material but also moisture regulating and shock-absorbent.
Insylo has a groundbreaking solution that allows the remote monitoring of the livestock farms’ silos and the optimization of the replenishment logistics at a fraction of the costs of comparable solutions. BartsParts combines decentralized stored spare parts into an integrated, digital spare part warehouse and conveys them to purchasers worldwide. Local spare parts warehouses can thus utilize their old stock and customers can choose from a large offer with high discounts.
FarmPin helps to improve plant performance due to satellite imagery and growth graphs. Problems such as crop stress, plant moisture distribution, clogged nozzles, and pest damage can be detected earlier with this technology. Farmers receive growth graphs from their fields directly on their smartphone and can react faster.
Farm Hedge is a mobile and secure trading platform between farmers and agribusiness companies. The tool allows resellers to send tailored offers directly to their customer's smartphones. Farmers can in return send requests to buy products or sell commodities.
Livestock Technology Services Inc. is designing and manufacturing IoT-based capsules that are orally ingestible by cows and measure temperature, drinking/eating habits, movement and other critical biometric data for the purposes of disease, estrus-, and birth management. The data is collected up to 300 times per day and cow and is analyzed using a proprietary Deep Learning algorithm.
Livin Farms offers the first desktop hive for the growth of healthy and sustainable food in the form of mealworms at home. The Hive is a portable, smart insect farm with a micro-ecosystem for mealworms, with the additional benefit to recycling food waste. Further, Livin Farms currently develops a mass production system, which also should enables the production of mealworms for B2B customers.
CropTech is a StartUp from Slovakia that developed a sensor-based monitoring and automation system, which can be used for various applications such as hydroponics, aquariums and gardens. Their product “ResponzIO” is designed to fully automate all processes and adapts its actions based on sensor feedback.
The Italian StartUp Evja is combining Artificial Intelligence, Internet of Things and self-calibrating agronomic models. They developed the so-called OPI, which is an Intelligent Support System that helps farmers to lower the usage of chemical products and water due to real-time monitoring and enables early prediction of diseases.
Evologic Technologies invented a unique technology that allows growing hairy roots in industrial scale bioreactors. Their novel technology enables large-scale AMF (Arbuscular Mycorrhizal Fungi) production at a competitive price. The advantages are an increase in accessible soil volume, nutrient uptake efficiency and water efficiency.
Tevatronic, an Israeli StartUp, developed an autonomous irrigation control system. Sensors are measuring the actual need for water, which in turn optimizes the usage of water and fertilizers. Their system is fully capable of deciding when and how much to irrigate, and it executes the irrigation decision without human intervention.
