Intense collaboration with startups as well as ongoing in-house project work led to the development of numerous topics and business cases. After reaching market maturity, these projects were either handed over to the RWA-group or developed further by their originators.

Autonomous weeding robots

Labour shortage and increasingly strict regulations make the use of robots attractive, especially in labour-intensive crops.  As the exclusive distribution partner of Naio Technologies, the Agro Innovation Lab is available to Austrian farmers with the models Oz, Dino and Ted models. The robots can be used in horticulture, vegetable growing and viticulture for mechanical and autonomous weed control. The Agro Innovation Lab will be happy to advise on the selection of suitable models, provide support in the search for subsidies and accompany the use of the robots.

Trichogramma dropping

The corn borer is a serious threat to farmers. In addition to preventive mechanical tillage and treatment with insecticides, the dropping of trichogramma ichneumon flies is a particularly successful means of combating the pest. We use drones to spread the beneficial insects precisely and efficiently over maize fields, thus creating a sustainable, innovative alternative.

Soil sampling service

Soil is an unalterable basis for income. A current assessment of the condition of the soil is correspondingly important. We offer a comprehensive service for soil sampling. The geo-referenced soil sampling itself, from planning and consulting, to the analysis of the collected mixed samples. The service is rounded off by fertilizer advice for the individual warehouses.

Sub-area specific cultivation

In sub-area specific management, an entire field is divided into several sub-areas and managed in a correspondingly small-scale adapted manner. Within the framework of a two-year feasibility study on this topic, we have, together with nine participating farmers, built up know-how in sowing and fertilization within the RWA, the Lagerhaus Technik Center and Lagerhaus-group. If you are interested, we can support you in the implementation, e.g., preparation of application maps.

Lagerhaus Weather App

Climate, weather, and their seasonal and regional variability influence the yield potential and the quality of the crop harvest. Lagerhaus in Lower Austria operates a dense network of more than 80 weather stations, displaying precipitation, temperature, sunshine hours, and wind on the Lagerhaus Weather App.

FarmHedge

FarmHedge is the new trading and communication channel for Lagerhaus. Buying selected farm equipment or selling agricultural products is easy with the FarmHedge app. You can receive offers from your participating Lagerhaus at any time. Depending on the season, you will receive selected offers from different areas such as agriculture, technology, or viticulture. With the app, it is also possible to sell your products easily and directly.

BartsParts

BartsParts.eu is a webshop for slow turning spare parts in the field of agriculture and gardening equipment. BartsParts combines decentrally stored spare parts into a networked, digital spare parts warehouse and sells them to buyers all over the world. Local spare parts warehouses can thus recycle their old stock. Customers can purchase spare parts from a wide range of products at high discounts.

Bark beetle analysis

The bark beetle, as the most relevant pest, poses significant challenges for the entire forestry industry. Climate change is further aggravating the situation. In cooperation with the company “Festmeter”, infested trees are detected early and can be removed from the stand utilizing targeted early detection through aerial photography using artificial intelligence. In this way, further development can be curbed and the spread can be slowed down.

Autonomous green space management

Due to the threat of bans on herbicide use and the increasing shortage of skilled workers, we started pilot trials of autonomous green space management for large agricultural areas together with various manufacturers of mowing robots (e.g. Vitirover). In 2020 these will be carried out in multiple vineyards and also in a transformer station. First successes and high customer demand allow a positive outlook on the soon commercialization of the service for our customers.
