Over the course of the last months, we welcomed two new members to the Agro Innovation Lab. Vesna and Lena have been part of our team since the summer. We are very happy to have your support – but read for yourself what makes the two of them special:

Vesna Radic

Why did you want to work at Agro Innovation Lab?

When I found out about the Agro Innovation Lab within RWA, I was immediately drawn to the opportunity to join a young team eager to make a mark in the AgTech industry right at the beginning of their careers. The idea of bringing together research hubs, emerging businesses, global discoveries, and engaging with investors/stakeholders strongly aligned with my professional goals. The growing impact of AIL is becoming increasingly visible, both internally and externally. I take great pride in being part of this team.

How this expertise helps me in my work:

While my academic background in agricultural economics lays a strong foundation for comprehending processes, it’s the crucial experiences gained through diverse global projects in international organizations that have truly shaped my capabilities. Essential skills that have proven immensely valuable include effective time and event management, strong communication abilities, adaptability to project dynamics, and a committed approach to teamwork.

What I enjoy doing in my free time:

During my free time, I create and host Podcast episodes on my YouTube channel. These episodes act as a guide, helping and inspiring people who contemplate shifting from urban to rural life. I firmly believe in the importance of each person’s contribution. Additionally, I’m currently pursuing several courses to enhance skills related to sustainable development, benefiting not only our team but also the wider community. I find joy in training, exploring new places, and cherishing moments with friends and family.

What do you find interesting about Agro Innovation Lab:

I find the interaction between young, agile startups and experienced, established players like RWA, warehouses, and many subsidiaries like us particularly interesting. These collaborations enable a sustainable transformation of the agricultural industry. Additionally, I find it remarkable how the Agro Innovation Lab serves as a platform for knowledge exchange and networking, both nationally and internationally. The numerous partnerships reflect a comprehensive commitment to shaping the future of the agricultural industry together.

What is your career background?

Through my studies in product marketing and project management, I gained solid skills in strategic marketing and effective project management. Complementing my knowledge with a master’s degree in agricultural and nutrition economics creates a unique connection. This combination allows me not only to develop innovative marketing approaches but also to have profound insights into the specifics of the agricultural and food industry. Throughout my professional journey, I gained valuable experience in marketing food startups. Additionally, I actively participated in the marketing of the family’s agricultural showcase. This dual experience allowed me to understand both the dynamics of startups and the specific challenges of the agriculture industry. My journey has not only provided me with expertise but also diverse skills, including teamwork, communication, marketing strategies, and project management. With this mix of experience and passion, I strive to bring innovative impulses to the agribusiness.

Describe the Agro Innovation Lab in 3 words:

Excluding the word “innovative,” I would describe working at the Agro Innovation Lab as visionary, shaping, and forward-looking.
